Unleash your creativity at our Arts & Crafts zone! Perfect for little hands and big imaginations, this area is packed with fun, hands-on activities that celebrate the countryside and farming life.
Children can enjoy making and decorating their own masterpieces, from colourful farm-themed crafts to nature-inspired creations. It’s a fantastic way to learn, play, and take home something special as a memory of the day.
Our friendly exhibitors will guide you through each activity, ensuring it’s easy, enjoyable, and full of inspiration. Whether you’re painting, sticking, or creating something unique, there’s plenty to keep young minds entertained.
Face Painting & Glitter Tattoos
Add a splash of colour and sparkle to your day! Children can choose from a range of fantastic, vibrant face painting designs or opt for a glitter tattoo for some extra shimmer. Please note: There is a small surcharge for these activities:

Chocolate Workshop with Choccotastic

Kids Kitchen, sponsored by Warners (pre-bookable only)
Kids Kitchen run friendly, inclusive and sustainable cooking sessions for littlies around Herefordshire, and we’re delighted that they’ll be holding pre-bookable workshops, making yummy, healthy apple energy balls at CountryTastic for the first time this year. Kids Kitchen is a social enterprise, building health and community through family cooking. They run stay-and-play style cooking sessions and through these and other activities help young children and their adults explore, enjoy and engage with food and each other. Kids Kitchen has found there are so many great ways of getting families cooking – and a nearly infinite list of benefits! But the one thing that their activities will always have in common is that they’ll be simple, fun for everyone and from scratch!

Fun with Flowers – Head Garlands & Posy Workshops
Get creative with Fun with Flowers at CountryTastic! Join our hands-on workshop where children can craft their very own beautiful head garlands and posies using fresh foliage and seasonal flowers. It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore nature, learn simple floristry skills, and design something truly special to take home. Perfect for budding florists and flower lovers alike! Have A Go Sessions
Dig-Plant-Grow Workshops with former Blue Peter Gardener Chris Collins
Chris will be bringing his very popular workshops back to CountryTastic this year. For three to five year old children, he’ll be bringing his salad heads kit for them to draw a face on a recyclable pot and sow cress for hair. For over five year old children, Chris will help then sow a mini allotment.

Hereford WI
Hereford WI invites children and families to enjoy fun, hands‑on activities exploring where our food comes from and how it’s grown. Through games, crafts and interactive sessions, children will discover farming, nature and sustainability in an engaging and age‑appropriate way.

Oakey Bear Willow Weaving
Make magical creatures and objects come to life using willow as part of drop-in sessions. There will also be smaller crown making activities to get involved with too.

Create Your Own Clay Creatures
Join Eastnor Pottery & The Flying Potter for a hands-on creative experience at CountryTastic. Under expert guidance, you’ll learn the coiling technique to model your very own horse, pony, or donkey in clay. No previous experience needed—just bring your imagination and a sense of fun!
Once your masterpiece is complete, you can take it home to air-dry and paint, making it a perfect keepsake of your day. This activity is ideal for all ages and guarantees plenty of giggles as you explore the art of pottery. This workshop operates on a first come, first served basis.

Cotteswold Dairy Butter Making
Cotteswold Dairy is one of the UK’s largest independent family-run dairies, processing over 100 million litres of milk each year and delivering fresh milk, cream and complementary products to homes and businesses across England and Wales.
With four depots in Cheltenham, Shropshire, North Wales and Herefordshire, and a main production site in Tewkesbury, the company manages every stage of the milk journey (from farm to fridge!) while staying true to its core values of community and sustainability. They work closely with long-standing local family farms to ensure exceptional quality and animal welfare, while staying true to our ethos of being at the heart of a responsible and sustainable dairy community.
The dairy will be demonstrating butter making, using Cotteswold Dairy cream, and inviting attendees to make their own butter to take away. They will also have a stall with information on the farms and cows that provide the dairy with milk. This workshop operates on a first come, first served basis. Alongside this, they will also have colouring and educational activities to give out.

Croome Cuisine Cheese Making
Discover the art of cheese-making with Croome Cheese, specialists in creating delicious artisan cheeses infused with iconic local ingredients. At CountryTastic, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at traditional techniques as they demonstrate cheese pressing—a key step in crafting their award-winning varieties. This workshop operates on a first come, first served basis.

Art Studio Ross
Art Studio Ross will be hosting ‘Hold Your Horses’ themed crafts including:
- Horse puppets from recycled materials
- Simple horse portraits with clay and natural materials
- Horse themed tracing on light boxes
- Their signature selection of fabric wreaths and garlands to create a family centrepiece together

Severn Treescapes Bookmark Making
The Severn Treescapes project is a Three Counties wide project, trying to increase tree planting from the Wye to the Wyre. The Deadwood Society is a year long project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund focusing on the importance of deadwood to species across the Three Counties.

Worcestershire Guild of Spinners – Spinning & Weaving Demonstrations
Watch traditional skills come to life with fascinating spinning and weaving demonstrations from the Worcestershire Guild of Spinners. Learn how raw materials are transformed into beautiful yarn and fabric, and discover the heritage behind these crafts. Children will even have the chance to get involved with hands-on activities, perfect for sparking creativity and curiosity!

Stitch With Kate
During this ‘Make and Take’ activity, children will be able to sew felt crafts that are themed around all things horse. All materials are pre-cut and needles threaded allowing the focus to be on the sewing itself. Children as young as three are able to access the activity with the support of their accompanying adult. This workshop operates on a first come, first served basis.

RSPB Nature Activities
Discover the wonders of nature with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB)! This year, the RSPB will host nature-inspired workshops for children, such as planting their own sunflower seed in an environmentally friendly pot and creating a bird feeder using an apple. These hands-on activities are a fun way to learn about wildlife and sustainability.

Educational Activities
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Earth Heritage Trust
The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Earth Heritage Trust is a registered charity that promotes the protection, conservation, improvement and the education of Earth Heritage largely within these two counties.
There is a great variety of scenery and landscape within Herefordshire and Worcestershire. This is largely due to the many different rocks which can be seen at places called Geosites, along with their contained minerals and fossils. The Trust is also about people and includes Professionals, Friends (members) and Volunteers. The Trust’s shared aim is to protect and increase understanding of this heritage.
The Trust’s activities include large and small funded Projects, producing Trail guides, including one for the Geopark Way, and Maintaining important sites. Those involved with the Trust also attend Public events to broaden our outreach.
This year, the Trust will be offering badge making, a dinosaur detective trail, a mineral hunt and fossil casting. They will also be selling merchandise such as trail guides, mineral specimens and toy dinosaurs.

Let’s Waste Less Activities
Join Let’s Waste Less for fun and educational activities focused on waste prevention and home composting. Test your knowledge with their Recycling Quiz – discover just how much UK households throw away each day! Plus, explore real compost samples and learn practical tips to reduce waste at home. There may even be chance to inspect mini beasts under a microscope too, making this an exciting and educational experience for all ages!

Reading Nook and Colouring Area
Rosie’s Book Store will host a cozy Reading Nook where children can enjoy stories with their families. Alongside the reading area, kids can get creative with colouring activities, keeping little hands busy and imaginations flowing!

Midlands Air Ambulance Helipod
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity will attend the event with their helipod, raising awareness on the importance of CPR training. Kids can pretend to take to the skies as they sit in the cockpit too!

Oscar’s Tree Academy
Oscar’s Tree Academy is an engaging, nature‑themed workshop designed to help children explore, understand, and appreciate the wonderful world of trees. Through hands‑on activities and creative learning, children will:
- Identify a Range of Trees – Learn how to recognise common trees by their leaves, bark, shape, and seeds. From mighty oaks to delicate birches, children will become confident junior tree‑spotters.
- Tree Colouring Sheets & Creative Activities – Children can express their creativity with beautifully designed tree‑themed colouring sheets and simple crafts, helping them connect with nature through art.
- Native or Introduced? – Discover which trees naturally grow in the UK and which were brought here from other parts of the world. Children learn how different species arrived, why they thrive, and why biodiversity matters.
- The Seasons and Trees – Explore how trees change throughout the year — budding in spring, providing shade in summer, turning vibrant colours in autumn, and resting through winter. Children gain an understanding of nature’s cycles.
- What Comes From Trees – From fruit and seeds to wood, paper, and essential wildlife habitats, children learn the many gifts trees provide and why they are so important to everyday life.
National Trust in Herefordshire
The National Trust is Europe’s biggest conservation charity and we look after nature, beauty and history for everyone to enjoy. They work to prevent climate change, protect historic sites and help people and nature thrive. With rural idylls, historic castles, city centre escapes and Capability Brown landscaped parklands, the National Trust is sure there’s something for everyone in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The National Trust will be bringing nature focused crafts and activities for children to enjoy at CountryTatic this year.
Herefordshire Museums and Galleries
Museum on the Move is a new pop‑up museum programme created by Herefordshire Museums & Galleries to bring museum collections directly into communities while the main Hereford Museum is closed for redevelopment.
Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, it uses a specially designed electric van to transport objects, displays, and creative activities to schools, festivals, towns, villages, and community events across the county. Its goal is to keep museum engagement active, accessible, and creative during the redevelopment period.
Herefordshire Museums and Galleries will bring a selection of handling materials and dress‑up items, along with two free activities focused on knights and jousting in line with this year’s theme of ‘Hold Your Horses’.

Learning Through Landscapes
Learning Through Landscapes is a Department for Education commissioned programme, as part of their Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy. It is a free programme for all education settings in England including nurseries, Primary and Secondary schools and Further Education establishments. The aim is encourage young people to help to increase biodiversity in their outdoor space and to gain the knowledge, skills and agency to act on climate change
Learning Through Landscapes will be bringing a linking plants and flowers activity and teaching visitors about biodiversity mapping and surveying.
